A New Generation of Conservatives

Red Millennial was originally created by Julia Porterfield in January 2013 for an assignment in a journalism class at Regent University. Since the age of 13, Julia has aspired to be a political journalist and she saw this as an opportunity to get experience in the world of online journalism. It wasn’t until the assignments were over that Red Millennial took off.
In hope of expanding and providing more content, Julia brought on friend and fellow Regent University undergrad Seth Connell in March 2013. The following month, Julia reached out to new friends and fellow political nerds Samantha Rozzell and Vandon Gene to join Red Millennial.
Now known as “The Core Four,” Julia, Seth, Samantha, and Vandon are the founders of Red Millennial. Together, they publish articles, host Google+ hangouts and provide breaking news coverage via Twitter.
Red Millennial is run by young Conservatives for all. Our desire is to provide fast, thorough coverage of politics and current events from a Conservative perspective. We are staffed by four college students from a myriad of different backgrounds, all working towards one goal- making the Right fight.
You can check out Red Millenial here.

Pumpkin Cookies Recipe

Grace and I just finished making Pumpkin Cookies. I was  a little leery because we hadn't tried this recipe before, but they taste really great!! We substituted soft white wheat, sucanat, sweetened carob chips and evaporated cane juice.

2 cups flour
1 cup quick oats, uncooked
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter - softened
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup pumpkin
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine flour, oats, baking soda, cinnamon and salt. Set aside. Cream butter, sugar and brown sugar. Beat until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla and mix. Alternate additions of dry ingredients and pumpkin, mixing well after each addition. Stir in chocolate chips.

Spoon cookie dough onto cookie sheet. Bake 15-20 minutes, until the cookies are firm and lightly browned.

Couponing & Refunding Magazine

Grocery shopping can be an expensive and challenging effort. I found this magazine many years ago and would like to share it with all of you because it has been helpful in my quest to save money and I have also enjoyed the many stories sent in by readers retelling their couponing adventures.

You can get a subscription to the print magazine and/or the online version/supplement. I highly recommend getting both versions. The online site has updated lists of deals at numerous stores, printable coupons, addresses for grocery manufacturers, links where to purchase coupons, and so much more. My favorite part online is the section called "Centsible Chat". This is a message board type area where you can list deals that you have done. This is where Chelsie found out how to get Grace's diapers for free when she was a baby.

Please consider adding me as a referral if you decide to subscribe by clicking here.

How I pre-ordered Tangled for free

My daughter, Grace, absolutely loves the Disney movie Tangled. She has both dolls, the costume and the two foot long wig. She is asleep right now, but when she wakes up tomorrow morning and I tell her that she will be receiving her favorite movie in just a few days she will be thrilled. I'm even more excited because I just ordered it for FREE! by using Amazon gift cards that I earned for free though Opinion Outpost, Swagbucks, and Viewpoints.

Last July I signed up for a company that pays you to complete surveys. I was a little skeptical at first, but soon realized that Opinion Outpost is a great way to make a small amount of extra money each month. The company sends you surveys based on the information you provide when you sign up. Once you complete the survey you are award points. The points can be redeemed for a check, Amazon gift card, or a Citi gift card. On average I can make around $30 a month from Opinion Outpost.

I have just started using Swagbucks. This is a great website that awards you points for doing everyday tasks such as searching the Internet and shopping online. You can then redeem the points you earn for gift cards.  Since I joined the site two weeks ago I have already earned a $5 Amazon gift card.

Last Christmas I completed 25 reviews for Viewpoints. In return for my review of products I have purchased I was rewarded with a $25 Amazon gift card. I used this gift card to purchase Christmas presents. Through March 21st Viewpoints is offering a free $5 Amazon gift card for 5 reviews.

To stretch your Amazon gift card even further you can sign up for a free Amazon Prime account. You get free unlimited two-day shipping. This account is offered for students with a edu e-mail account and moms.

$246.75 of groceries for $46.25!!

I started off our grocery trip to Kroger this week with transferring two prescriptions. There was an add on the back of the sales flyer for $25 worth of free groceries for each prescription that was transferred. So at the beginning of the trip my Kroger card was loaded with $50.
Our total before coupons and sales was $246.75 for:
2 boxes Cascadian Farms cereal
1 box Moms Best Naturals cereal
10 containers Philadelphia Cooking creme
1 bag Tostitos
1 32 oz. Daisy Sour Cream
1 Stony Field Yogurt
2 containers of beef stock
2 containers of chicken stock
1 Pineapple
1 Baking soda
1 Container of safflower oil
4 boxes of Annies Mac & Cheese
1 bag Tysons chicken patties
1 bag Tysons chicken strips
8 bags Kraft shredded cheese
4 blocks of Kraft cheese
5 bags of Kroger frozen vegetables
10 boxes of Healthy Harvest Pasta
2 Annies Dressing
2 Kraft Ranch Dressing
2 Krafts Light Mayonaise
Cascadian Farms Strawberry jelly
3 zuccini
3 Newmans Own Salsa
1 gallon Horizon Milk
Peanut Butter
Cooking wine

After the Kroger sales price, coupons and $50 from transferred prescriptions the total was $77.75.
I received a $5 and $1.50 catalina for the Kraft cheese and Annies Mac & Cheese to use on my next purchase, making my total $71.25.
I sent in for a $25 grocery rebate, bringing the total to $46.25.
Also, I received 273 fuel points to get a discount on my next fuel purchase at Kroger!!
